On October 27, 2015, the Platform Center organized a seminar on the research and development of reagents for scientific research in the “13th Five-Year Plan”. Experts from 17 organizations, including National Academy of Metrology of China, Institute of Organic Chemistry of Chinese Academy of Sciences, School of Medicine of Peking University, East China Normal University, etc., participated in the seminar.

At the meeting, relevant personnel introduced the research situation and progress of reagents for scientific research in the “13th Five-Year Plan”. Experts at the meeting put forward specific comments and suggestions on the situation and demand for the development of scientific research reagents, general ideas and key tasks. Participating experts believe that scientific research reagents are important scientific research conditions, & ldquo;13th Five-Year & rdquo; period to further build the construction system of scientific research reagents in line with China's scientific research needs, strengthen the basic research of scientific research reagents, focusing on the major needs of the population and health, resources and environment, clean energy, public security and other fields, to carry out the development of original, leading and high-end scientific research reagents, and continuously improve the research situation and needs of scientific research reagents. We will continue to improve the quality and safety system of scientific research reagents.

Reagents for scientific research are fine chemicals that need to be used in scientific research, widely used in scientific experiments, and are indispensable and important conditions in scientific experiments. They play a fundamental supporting and leading role in the progress and development of scientific and technological innovation. At present, more than 20 reagent companies around the world have become the main supplier of reagents for scientific research, supporting all kinds of scientific research activities and providing a full range of technical services. As an important scientific research conditions, the development of China's scientific research reagents is relatively weak, and the development of science and technology does not match, there is an urgent need to strengthen the overall planning and deployment during the & ldquo;13th Five-Year & rdquo; period, to promote the research and development of scientific research reagents, production and application of scientific research reagents, to provide strong support for scientific and technological innovation.
